Glass Ceiling Artist Management starts a passion project by Sarah Rupp. It is being established because as a female-identifying person, I have seen a big lack of non-male focussed projects in the electronic music business. Women still fall behind in many areas of music production, music management, DJing & more.
Although we are seeing a rise in bookings of female/trans/non-binary artists on line-ups today, the spots they inherit are still way below their male-identifying counterparts. This is not due to a lack of talent or expertise in said artists and industry professionals but due to the famously-named βglass ceilingβ that keeps female/trans/non-binary persons out of the top spots in this industry.
ROSTER
Vision
Simply said: Support our artists and lead them towards success through helping them navigate the difficult landscape of the very male-dominated music industry.
First and foremost, the vision is being a friend and ally, being the most needed support in the struggle towards being taken seriously, finding your own voice and confidence in your work.
Too many times Iβve met incredibly talented female-identifying artists that should be as proud and confident as their male counterparts, that are shaken in their view of themselves. This may have many reasons, but most can be lead back to the patriarchy, i.e. societal values and expectations for women to be more humble and taken aback, instead of loud and bold.
Classical management agency are great but they do not have the space nor need to focus on the female-identifying artists they have under contract, not even in an equal way as their already more successful male counterparts. Plus most of them donβt even have any non-binary or trans artists on their rosters. This should be a space for those underrepresented artists to get all the attention they deserve.
Diversity workshops

I also provide βdiversity workshopsβ for companies, conferences and individuals involved in the music industry. Here you can not only learn why these groups are underrepresented and what individual struggles they face. But you will also get simple, straightforward solutions on how to increase participation and limit hurdles in your business or area of expertise.
